The lymphatic system produces white blood cells called lymphocytes that protect us against various infections caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi. When some of the lymph nodes become tender due to infection and start multiplying uncontrollably, producing malignant cells.

Reasons for Hodgkin Lymphoma
Though there is no good reason for Hodgkin lymphoma to happen, here are the few causes –
Familial – When someone in the family has a history of the disease.
Viruses – The virus, Epstein-Barr causes infectious mononucleosis and that has been identified in 20%-80% of Hodgkin lymphoma cancer.
Environment – Lack of exposure to viral and bacterial infections at an early stage.
Symptoms of Hodgkin Lymphoma
· Swelling of one or a few lymph nodes with no pain and no infection.
· Swelling resulting in cough, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, or swelling.
· Pain in the abdomen of lymph nodes due to alcohol consumption.
· Pain in the bone.
· Continuous fever for two consecutive weeks or longer.
· Sensitive to infections.
· Unusual weight loss.
· Sweating extremely during night time.
